Philippa Stockley is a critically acclaimed novelist; award-winning journalist; critic and reviewer, and exhibiting artist. She holds MAs from Oxford University in English, and
art-historical clothing history from the Courtauld Institute of Art, where she was a Royal Literary Fund Fellow for five years to 2019.
She has written extensively on clothing and fashion for newspapers and magazines from The London Evening Standard to The Independent and Country Life, reviewing major
fashion exhibitions for The Evening Standard for over a decade. Her career includes costume design, couture for private clients, and graphic design from book jackets to shop-windows.
Twice-Booker-nominated, Philippa Stockley has published three novels and a non-fiction book on old London houses. Her fifth book, on practical decoration (Paint & Make, Pimpernel
Press), is due Spring 2023.
